The Company established a presence in Taiwan in 1989, launching three brands in the market - Estée Lauder, Clinique, and Aramis. The initials of these three brands, ELCA, became the official company name of the Taiwan affiliate. Over the years, our business has grown, and we now have 20 brands in the market.

At The Estée Lauder Companies, our mission is “Bringing the Best to Everyone We Touch” and we are committed to delivering high quality products and High-Touch service and experiences to all our consumers.

As a Company, we are also committed to act responsibly and have a positive impact in the communities we serve. Over the years, through our corporate philanthropy programs, we have supported the activities and growth of numerous organizations dedicated to health and human services, education, the environment, and the arts.

Our largest corporate citizenship initiative is The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign (formerly known as The Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign), which unites and inspires people around the world in its mission to create a breast cancer-free world. Founded in 1992 by the late Evelyn H. Lauder, with the launch of the iconic Pink Ribbon, The Breast Cancer Campaign is active in more than 70 countries and has raised more than US$76 million to support global research, education and medical services.

In FY16, The Estée Lauder Companies also launched its Girls' Education Initiative to help girls worldwide acquire the necessary tools and skills to become healthy and productive adults; to effect lasting change for themselves, their families, and their communities; and to break the cycle of poverty. Through this initiative, we have deployed corporate grants across 11 global cities and communities and served over 100,000 children globally.

Our brands are also involved in philanthropic initiatives that reflect their mission and values.

• The M·A·C AIDS Fund is a pioneer in HIV/AIDS funding and since its launch, VIVA GLAM has raised $500 million for the global fight against HIV/AIDS, helping millions of people. The brand has now evolved its long-term mission of serving the HIV/AIDS community to also support women and girls and the LGBTQ community by expanding its funding through the sale of VIVA GLAM lipstick.

• La Mer, a brand drawing its inspiration from the sea, is committed to supporting the protection of ocean habitats for the generations to come.

• Origins and Aveda are also committed to sustainability. On top of their Earth Month campaigns, these brands mobilize all year-round to raise awareness of the protection of the environment. Origins supports reforestation projects through its Green The Planet Campaign™, while Aveda is involved in a number of environmental causes, including many initiatives to provide access to clean water.

• Jo Malone London is committed to shining a light on mental health. Working with dedicated charity partners, the brand supports specialized programs to help raise awareness of mental health and support those living with the daily challenges and isolation it often brings.
