Ørsted in Taiwan
Ørsted established the Asia Pacific hub in Taipei in 2016 to develop renewable energy solutions in Taiwan. Ørsted is the largest shareholder of the Formosa 1 project, Taiwan’s first commercial-scale offshore wind farm. Ørsted and the partners jointly completed the phase 2 construction of Formosa 1, which will be in commercial operation by end of 2019. Ørsted is currently constructing the 900MW Greater Changhua 1&2a project, located 35 to 50 kilometers off the Changhua coastline, to be completed in 2021 and 2022 An additional 920MW for the Greater Changhua 2b&4 project, which is subject to final investment decision, is expected to be completed in 2025.
