Ørsted has already installed 1,000 wind turbines offshore, and is the biggest operator of offshore wind power plants in Europe, with more than 7GW in operation/under construction, including the first gigawatt scale offshore wind farm Hornsea Project One in the UK. Ørsted has been successful in attracting equity partners ranging from pension funds to large scale industrial companies outside of the utility sector, to support our international expansion strategy.
In 2015 Ørsted has opened an office in Boston, USA and in 2016, Ørsted inaugurated its office in Taipei to develop Taiwanese market and further explore other Asian markets. Currently Ørsted has five projects in Taiwan, including 35% ownership of Taiwan’s first offshore wind project, Formosa I, in Miaoli, and four developing offshore wind projects off the Changhua coast.
